Key Reasons Owners Come Back

Thorough Assessment

We look carefully before we touch anything and share what we find — so you can decide what you'd like to do.

Agreed Pricing

All costs are confirmed before work begins. Nothing is added without your knowledge and approval.

Service Warranty

Maintenance work is backed by a warranty — if something related to the service needs attention, we address it.

Parts Made by Hand

When correct parts aren't available, we make them — rather than fit something that doesn't belong.

Open Communication

We pause and contact you if anything unexpected arises. You're never kept out of the loop.

Work at the Right Pace

Heirloom and restoration work takes as long as it should. We don't rush to meet an arbitrary deadline.

Professional Expertise

The watchmaker at Mongkol Works has been working on mechanical movements for over fifteen years, with a particular focus on vintage and mid-century pieces. This isn't a generalist repair shop that handles all electronics and appliances — it is a workshop dedicated to timepieces, where the tools, the habits, and the knowledge are all pointed in a single direction.

  • Mechanical movement service and repair
  • Manual and automatic calibres
  • Vintage and heirloom restoration
  • Handmade part fabrication when required

Tools and Methods

Good watchmaking relies on the right equipment and the discipline to use it correctly. We use timing machines for rate measurement, ultrasonic cleaners for movement parts, and precision instruments for case and bracelet work. For heirloom pieces, conservation rather than replacement is the first instinct — age and character are respected, not erased.

  • Electronic timing machine used on all serviced movements
  • Ultrasonic and peg-and-clean methods
  • Conservation-first approach for aged dials
  • Finish work done by a dedicated specialist

Customer Service

Every watch arrives with a story. We take the time to understand what the piece means to its owner and what outcome they'd actually like. Our client liaison role exists precisely to bridge the technical and the personal — so that what we do in the workshop reflects what was agreed at the counter.

  • Condition notes shared after assessment
  • No work done beyond what was agreed
  • Contact during the job if scope changes
  • Questions welcomed before, during, and after

Value and Pricing

Our prices are set clearly and communicated before work starts. The maintenance service at ฿4,400 covers a complete service including lubrication, regulation, and condition notes. Case refinishing at ฿8,300 includes the full discussion and finish work. Heirloom restoration at ฿14,900 covers the assessment and base restoration scope, with any additional work agreed separately.

  • Fixed starting prices, not estimates that grow
  • Additional scope always agreed in advance
  • Service warranty included at no extra cost
  • Thai baht pricing — no foreign currency complications

Outcomes That Last

The purpose of a service isn't just to fix what's broken today — it's to extend the reliable life of the watch. A properly serviced movement, running within its designed rate, with fresh lubricants and clean parts, will last significantly longer between services than one that is rushed or only partly addressed. We aim for every piece leaving the workshop to be in a better condition than when it arrived — measurably, not just cosmetically.

What We Do Differently

Things You Won't Find Everywhere

Written Restoration Plans

Before any heirloom or restoration work begins, we provide a written document describing the proposed scope, approach, and cost. This is uncommon in small repair workshops but we consider it essential for work of this kind.

Part Fabrication on Site

For pieces where correct replacement parts no longer exist in the supply chain, we have the capability to make them by hand. This keeps restorations historically appropriate rather than relying on modern substitutes.

Finish Agreed Before Refinishing

We never refinish without a detailed conversation first. Some owners want a clean, factory-fresh look; others prefer we leave honest patina where it adds to the piece. Both are valid, and the choice belongs to the owner.

A Conservation Mindset

We approach every aged piece with the intention of preserving rather than improving. Original dials, original finishes, original character — these are things we protect, not things we automatically update.

Let's Talk About What Your Watch Needs

There's no obligation in an initial conversation. Tell us about the piece and what you're hoping for, and we'll share an honest view of the options.
