  • "We / Us / Our" — Mongkol Works, operating at 39 Chang Khlan Road, Chang Khlan, Chiang Mai 50100, Thailand.

  • "Service" — any maintenance, refinishing, or restoration work carried out by Mongkol Works on a timepiece.
  • "Item" — a watch or associated component entrusted to us by the Client.
  • "Quotation" — a written estimate of cost and scope issued after our initial assessment of the Item.

Section 2

Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an enquiry, leaving an Item for assessment, or commissioning a Service, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms. You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you have the consent of a parent or guardian, and that you have the legal authority to enter this Agreement on behalf of yourself or any represented party.

If you do not accept these Terms, we respectfully ask that you not submit an Item for service until any concerns have been discussed and resolved with us directly.

Section 3

Service Description

Mongkol Works offers watch repair and restoration services in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Our three principal services are:

  • Maintenance and Regulation (฿4,400) — cleaning, lubrication renewal, and rate adjustment for watches in working order.
  • Case and Bracelet Refinish (฿8,300) — careful cosmetic work to refresh metal surfaces while preserving original character.
  • Full Heirloom Restoration (from ฿14,900) — comprehensive movement and cosmetic restoration for inherited and collectible timepieces.

Services are available to clients who deliver their Items in person to our workshop. We do not currently accept postal submissions. Service availability is subject to workshop capacity; we will inform you at the time of enquiry if a waiting period applies.

Section 4

Quotations & Assessments

Before any work begins, we conduct a careful assessment of the Item and provide a written Quotation detailing the scope of work, estimated cost, and indicative turnaround time. Work does not begin until you have accepted the Quotation in writing or by clear verbal confirmation.

Should our assessment reveal additional requirements not apparent at intake — such as worn parts or hidden corrosion — we will contact you with a revised Quotation and await your decision before proceeding. We do not undertake unquoted work without your agreement.

Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.

Section 5

User Responsibilities

When submitting an Item and using our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the Item's history, condition, and any prior repairs or modifications.
  • Disclose any known allergies, sensitivities, or concerns about materials or processes.
  • Collect the completed Item within 30 days of receiving our completion notice, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.
  • Treat our staff and premises with courtesy and respect.
  • Use the information on our website only for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent ownership or authority over an Item submitted for service.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or reproduce our workshop processes or proprietary techniques.
  • Use our website or services in any manner that contravenes applicable Thai law.

Section 6

Intellectual Property

All Content on our website — including text, photography, design, and workshop documentation — is the property of Mongkol Works or its licensors and is protected under Thai copyright law and applicable international conventions.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view our website Content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This licence does not permit you to copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Content without our prior written consent.

Any items you entrust to us remain your property throughout the service process. We may photograph Items for our records or portfolio purposes; if you prefer your Item not to be photographed, please inform us at the time of intake.

Section 7

Payment Terms

All prices are quoted and payable in Thai Baht (฿). Payment is due in full upon collection of the completed Item unless a deposit arrangement has been agreed in writing at the time of quotation acceptance.

We accept payment in cash and by bank transfer. Details for bank transfer will be provided on our invoice. We do not currently accept payment by credit or debit card.

Cancellations: If you choose to cancel after work has commenced, reasonable costs incurred up to the point of cancellation will be chargeable. We will provide a clear statement of those costs before any charge is applied.

Uncollected Items: Items not collected within 60 days of our completion notice, despite reasonable attempts to contact you, may be treated as abandoned in accordance with applicable Thai law. We will make at least two written contact attempts before taking any such steps.

Section 8

Service-Specific Terms

Maintenance and Regulation

This service involves cleaning key components, renewing lubrication, and adjusting timekeeping rate. The service does not cover unseen damage that becomes apparent only upon opening the movement. If additional work is found to be needed, we will advise you before proceeding.

Case and Bracelet Refinish

We discuss desired finish and intended extent of refinishing with you prior to beginning work. We take care to protect dials, crystals, and bezels. Some surface character considered by the owner to be patina may be retained at your request. The degree of refinishing is agreed in writing before commencement. Results depend on the original condition of the metal and cannot be fully predicted in advance.

Full Heirloom Restoration

Restoration of inherited or collectible timepieces involves detailed assessment and a written restoration plan agreed with you before work commences. Replacement parts may be fabricated by hand where originals are unavailable. Timescales for restoration work vary according to the complexity of the piece; we will provide an indicative schedule and keep you informed of progress. Conservation of original detail — including honest age marks — is a priority unless you instruct otherwise.

Section 9

Disclaimers

Our services are provided with care and skill, but watchmaking and restoration involve variables outside our control — including the age, condition, and provenance of a timepiece. We do not represent that any service will restore a watch to a specific level of performance or appearance not expressly agreed in writing.

Information on our website is provided in good faith for general guidance. It does not constitute professional horological, legal, or financial advice. We recommend consulting appropriate specialists for matters beyond the scope of watch care.

We are not responsible for pre-existing faults or damage that becomes more apparent in the course of service, provided we have taken reasonable care and informed you of any discoveries before proceeding.

Section 10

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, our total liability to you in respect of any single Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that Service.

We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss, including loss of sentimental or collector value, arising from the provision of services — save where such loss results from our own negligence or wilful misconduct.

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations where that failure arises from circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, or other force majeure events.

Section 11

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mongkol Works, its staff, and agents from any claims, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your provision of inaccurate information about an Item, or your use of our website in a manner that is unlawful or contrary to these Terms.

Section 12

Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service engagement prior to commencement of work without obligation, subject to the cancellation provisions in Section 7 where work has already begun.

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service where we have reasonable grounds to believe the Item is stolen, subject to a legal dispute, or where the circumstances of the commission are otherwise irregular. In such cases we will return the Item promptly.

Clauses relating to payment, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution shall survive any termination of this Agreement.

Section 13

Dispute Resolution

We hope any concerns can be resolved through a straightforward conversation. If you have a complaint about a Service, please contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within five business days.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties agree to seek resolution through mediation before initiating any legal proceedings, where doing so is practicable.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes that proceed to formal resolution shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.

Section 14

General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any written quotation, form the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the relevant Service and supersede all prior discussions.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
  • Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of our rights under that provision.
  • Assignment: You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may transfer our obligations to a suitable successor in the event of a change in business structure.
  • Notices: Formal notices should be sent by email to [email protected] or by post to our workshop address.

Section 15

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of our website or submission of an Item after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you have a Service in progress at the time of a change, the Terms in effect at the time you accepted your Quotation shall apply to that engagement.
